St Mary Church in Valle Porclaneta

In the village of Rosciolo, a hamlet of Magliano dei Marsi and center of ancient medieval origins that can still be seen in the almost intact urban structure, stands the Church of Santa Maria in Valle Porclaneta, which is one of the most beautiful Romanesque churches in Abruzzo.
The interior, with three naves, houses the beautiful ambo realized in 1150 by the masters Roberto di Ruggero and Nicodemo da Guardiagrele.
The ciborium with trilobate arches and an octagonal roof is also the work of the artists themselves.
Of particular interest is the very rare wooden architrave of the iconostasis, which has been preserved intact from the '200 to the present day.
