The work in the fields

The people living in the Park have their foundation in agriculture, in the ancient bond between man and the land, which has always accompanied the birth and growth of the community. The ancient life styles and work of our ancestors are preserved with great interest today: this is very important in order to hand down past memories to the new generations. Hence the importance of celebrations and initiatives re-enacting the rural life: its charm, but also its difficulties and its labours. Experiences such as sowing, harvesting, and the so-called "sfioratura" of the saffron, the vintage, the gathering of wild asparagus, which you can relive in the charming village of Goriano Valli (hamlet of Tione degli Abruzzi) at the Farm Vigna of More, where you can also make a reservation and spend the whole weekend with board and lodging free, to personally experience these events. Saffron harvesting is repeated every morning at dawn, before the sunlight opens the flowers for the entire period of blossoming between the second half of October and early November.

During the collection of truffles it is possible to participate in the search and collection of this precious tuber, which can be tasted in all restaurants. Accompanied by experts quarrymen and their dogs, the tour in the woodlands looking for truffles combines excitement with entertainment.
