Trekking and Hiking
For those who love adventure, the challenge, the excitement of the summit, but also for those who are looking for a pleasant and relaxing walk through valleys and mountains in search of fun natural and cultural park, the chances are several. From the relaxing walk in Valle D'Arano, a splendid basin surrounded by mountains, to the most complicated ascent of Mt. Velino, from enchanted walk inside beech woods of the Sirente, to the more cultural tours among small and quiet villages.
Horse Riding
Riding is an exiting alternative to discover nature slowly and admire, going along old carriage roads and mule tracks, uncontaminated landscapes, medieval villages, castles, churches, and monasteries. In the Park, in fact, it has been designed a network of Ippovia a ring that connects, for approximately 300 km, the entire territory and all of the protected villages. There have been recovered and restored water points, watering troughs and water sources that you meet along the way; realized new equipped stopping points with huts and points of fire and installed appropriate signs.
Biking and Mountain Biking
The bike is always a simple and ecological means of transport to discover the treasures of Sirente Velino Park and the sounds and perfumes that the nature offers. Thanks also to the Ippovia and to the different tracks, the park lends itself to be experienced even with this means.
Nordic Walking
Sirente Velino Park, thanks to the wide open spaces, it's an outdoor gym which lends itself to be lived even for the practice of a series of outdoor sports activities, such as Nordic walking. In Sirente Velino Park a trail network of 50 km has been designed for lovers of this new sport, surrounded by nature in summer or in the snow in wintertime.
Ski Touring
Another particular feature of this area is represented by the several itineraries dedicated to ski touring enthusiasts. Itineraries for all tastes in touch with nature: on the sunny course within interminable beech, low altitude, snow conditions permitting, such as touching the characteristic historic town centers, or at higher altitudes where the snow remains on occasions late in the spring.
Snowboarding and Ski Touring
In the heart of Park Velino Sirente, there are two of the most important ski resorts of the Apennines, with the most modern equipment. They represent, without a doubt, the ideal destination for skiing and snowboarding fans. Ovindoli and Campo Felice, in fact, with their 50 km of tracks, boast a skiing tradition of over thirty years, appreciated for the quality of the services, for the beauty of the tracks and for the healty air.
