St George Monastery

Goriano Valli, country hamlet of Tione degli Abruzzi

The St George Monastery, located in an elevated position in the hamlet of Goriano Valli, was built in the XV-XVII centuries by the Franciscan minor friars. Adjacent to it, you can visit the Church of St. George of the thirteenth century. Since 1998, the convent is managed by the Legambiente association which has provided for its recovery and restoration; today it is a center of eco-friendly activities where various initiatives are organized, from volunteer camps, to seminars and internships, to body ecology courses.
