Roccapreturo and Beffi Castles

In the municipality of Acciano, the Beffi tower is clearly visible even from afar. It is a typical sighting and defence tower, built in relation to the nearby towers of Roccapreturo and Goriano Valli, which together formed a broad defensive system to defend and control the Aquila countryside. The tower is located in the hamlet of Beffi, a splendid medieval village overlooking the Aterno river.
The tower of Roccapreturo, also in the municipality of Acciano, built between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, rises, instead, imposing on a rocky spur.
