Secinaro Archaeological Area

Secinaro, from Sicinius, was undoubtedly an important settlement of the Peligni Superequani. In the Casale area numerous ancient white limestone fragments came to light. Near the La Cambra fountain ruins of ancient buildings, remains of ad opus incertum walls, fragments of bricks and some tombstones that suggest the presence of a vicius or pagus.
The archaeological heritage is particularly rich, with some inscriptions in Peligna and Latin language displayed in the town hall, votive areas and the remains of a nymphaeum in La Ira.
