Honey

The honey production involves the whole territory of Sirente Velino Regional Park, in particular eastern Marsica and Subequana Valley. It is generally obtained from the local flora and mountain mixed flowers. The resident beehives are situated far from sources of pollution, in the high mountains (800-1,100 meters a.s.l.), in order to guarantee the genuineness of the products.

The production, based on traditional methods, includes mixed flower honey, acacia honey, thyme honey, horehound honey, chestnut honey, savory honey, and Sideritis Syriaca honey. Some of these products have recently obtained important national recognitions thanks to their considerable properties and qualities.
